Good data, easy to use

Needed the NFT API. Got an API key quickly. Integrated into my project. Data was accurate. Worked as expected.

So easy to build with!

I used the Web3 API for my new dApp, and it was incredible! Everything just clicked into place. The documentation was super clear, and I got my project up and running so fast. I'm definitely coming back for my next build, and I've already told my dev friends about it!

Decent platform, some minor hiccups

I've been using their Ethereum API and the React Web3 Hooks for a few weeks now. The stability has been good, and the data is reliable. I appreciated the free tier to get started, which was a big plus. My only small issue was with a specific error message that wasn't immediately clear in the documentation, requiring a bit of digging to understand. Customer service eventually helped, but it took a day. Still, it's a solid platform for building, and I plan to continue using it for my dApps.

Good value for what I got

As a first-time user, I was looking for the best deal. I signed up for the annual plan to get that 20% off. It made the Pro plan much more affordable. The Streams API has been super useful for my project, and considering the savings, it felt like a smart investment. Definitely worth it for the features I needed without breaking the bank.

Comprehensive toolkit for developers

I explored Moralis for a project requiring detailed blockchain data. The ordering process for an API key was straightforward, taking only a few minutes. I particularly focused on the Historical Transaction Data and Wallet Balances APIs. The data consistency was impressive, and the response times were fast enough for my application. Integrating the NodeJS Web3 Library was also quite smooth, and I encountered no major compatibility issues. Support documentation was generally helpful, though a few edge cases in their examples could be expanded. Overall, it provided a robust foundation for my development needs.

What kind of payment options does Moralis take? Can I pay with crypto or is it just credit cards?

Z Zach Campbell 1 day ago
Pretty sure it's mostly standard credit cards. Don't remember seeing crypto options when I signed up last year, but things change.

Yeah, I only ever paid with my credit card. I think for enterprise plans they might have more flexibility but for regular subscriptions, it's card payment.

thinking about the annual plan for the discount. if i need to cancel down the line, is it a pain or pretty straightforward?

J Jacob Jones 2 weeks ago
Super easy. Just go into your settings and click cancel. I did it once when I paused a project, no hassle at all.

Yeah, they don't make you jump through hoops. Just remember with annual, you're usually locked in for that year, but cancellation itself is quick for renewal.

Anyone compared Moralis vs Alchemy for an EVM project? Trying to decide which one to commit to for a new dApp.

M Melissa Jackson 1 week ago
I've used both. Moralis feels a bit more 'batteries included' with all the SDKs and pre-built functions, especially for quick prototyping. Alchemy is super robust too though, might depend on your specific needs.

Moralis has really good documentation and the streams API is killer. For EVM stuff, it's pretty comparable honestly. I'd say try the free tier on both and see which dev experience you prefer.

Thinking of trying out Moralis for a side project. How's their free tier, is it actually useful or just super limited?

B Brandon King 2 weeks ago
It's pretty solid for getting started. I built a basic dApp with it and didn't hit any walls for a while. You get access to a bunch of their APIs.

Yeah, it's more than just a demo. You can definitely get real dev work done on it. I think the main limits are on compute units and advanced features, but for learning or small stuff, it's great.

Does Moralis ever do discount codes or sales? Looking to get a Pro plan but waiting for a good deal if they pop up.

B Betty Rodriguez 1 month ago
They do Black Friday stuff, and sometimes specific conference deals. Also, if you pay annually instead of monthly, it's like 20% cheaper automatically.

Keep an eye out around big crypto events like ETHDenver. And yeah, annual billing is the easiest discount to get. Sometimes they have startup credits too, worth looking into if you qualify.
